Not an election post

Psych.

This is totally an election post, get off your ass and go vote.

I don't care how long the lines are.

I don't care how much other shit you have to do today.

This is more important.

This is for my kids, my husband's job, the home I live in, the health I have, my friends in Iraq who miss their families and want to come home alive, the supreme courts who pass judgment on me, and the rights to my body my ancestors fought to give me.

This is for me.

And...ya know...you, too.

I mean, as much as I like to make things all about me, I think it's pretty fair to say, this is equally important to you, as well.

Vote.

Plus, George Clooney says to, and he is hot...even with a mustache, which can be tricky to pull off with out looking too Uncle Rico, but he totally does it. I mean, I know I don't ever gush about him much, but I totally had the hottest dream about him a few nights ago...God I love pregnancy sex dreams, your body is always too physically exhausted to wake up before the happy ending, so you are a winner every time. Except, you know...for the awkward after sex conversation. You always hope that, boom, it happens, it's awesome, and then he morphs into a yummy burrito or something. But nope...that Clooney is surprisingly needy.

Anyways.

So yeah, find your way to the polls today, God knows I'll be there with my first time voter husband and two toddlers. And, I'll pass the time standing in line thinking how fucking awesome it is that I can't find a day time babysitter as the boys wiggle and scream and take turns making fart noises on my chest, and then spend the rest of the day glued to the TV eating Halloween candy and picking my "I Voted" sticker out of their hair. It's totally gonna rock.

Election Day '08, baby.

Being a Canadian living here I had a really hard time coming up with a patriotic vote post. I linked to yours. Great post! Really made me want to go vote!

I did the early voter thing here in Ohio...no line for me! Woo-hoo! But I think I'm going to knock on some old ladies' doors and offer to give them rides to the polls as long as they vote for Obama!

Voting = DONE!

But now that you mention it I'm wishing I'd taken the time to write in George Clooney somewhere on my ballot. Maybe as a judge or clerk of court.

Something to consider for next time.

I'm so glad someone else's sons make farting noises on their chest. Do they ask to see your boobies in church, too? I mean in the loudest voice possible, of course. Mine does. Little boys are so sweet:)

I voted. I was number 256, and I voted at 4pm....but we're in a small community.

I swear to God, it's gotten to the point where I'm voting out of just a few motivations:

1-Fondness for my vagina and maintaining control over her.
2-Fear of the Palin-induced apocalypse
3-Desire to avoid having my fiance sent to perform emergency surgery on foreign soldiers whilst getting bombed in some hellhole somewhere just because of some horseshit military obligation he made when he was too young and stupid to realize the implications.

Not that I'm bitter or anything.

Yay! That's all I can say. And, also, that Laef is a first-time voter today and was very excited.

Your husband allowed you to out him worldwide as a first-time voter in OHIO??? That's even worse than being one in Florida. At least he's learned his lesson by now, I suppose.

And nice work redeeming yourselves, Ohio. Burritos for everyone!

P.S. I've been meaning to say that, as an understatement, the new picture=thumbs way up!(Though that's not an indictment of the old picture at all.)

Wow, how exciting is this!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

How awesome all of you voted, and Judy, thanks for the link!!!!

And yeah...my hubby is a first time voter. He was the moron who linked registering to vote with jury duty, no matter what evidence i showed him otherwise. I finally turned him:) Silly boy!

Tony said...

I too voted, did not care for the outcome, but it is like the lottery. If you do not buy a ticket you can't win.

I wonder if someone could have a sex dream with George's Clooney's mustache...
