Fathers Day

This is my husband.

Without argument, he is, hands down, the greatest dad on earth.

He doesn't know this, but when he thinks I am not paying attention, I hear him sing silly songs to the boys, and it makes me fall in love with him all over again. This man will do anything to make his little men smile. He is a world class knock, knock joke teller, hider and seeker, and silly dance doer.

I know his heart hurts a little each day when he has to leave us behind and go to work. He waves at the boys from the driveway, and catches all their slobbery air kisses. They carry his dirty old baseball hat around the house just so they can smell him and feel like he's near.

He is the strongest person I know, even though he always lets us beat him at arm wrestling. He is patient, even at 3am, when all I want to do is put a pillow over my head to drown out the crying.

He is our rock, our security, and the love of our lives.

I think this is my favorite father's day post that I have seen. You captured much of what I feel for my husband. I listen to him with the kids when he thinks I don't hear. And I have also written about how he must feel to leave us behind every day...

I LOVE that photo. That's a framer.
